This was such a fun job! The 1979 kitchen was dark and small. You would never have even known that there was a gorgeous lake outside! There were no direct views from the kitchen to the lake that was right in the backyard. The little used eat-in area was sacrificed so the kitchen could spread out and we could get our lovely lake views. The living room and sunroom were also treated to a makeover so all the public space flows seamlessly together. The old kitchen window became a doorway into the neglected sunroom allowing for a circular traffic flow from the kitchen for entertaining. With the addition of energy-efficient glass to the sunroom the old heavy doors could be removed and a huge cased opening, now the whole house has access to the stunning lake views. The fireplace got the leftover lovely teal backsplash tile, and yes, there is a TV hiding behind the art above the fireplace! A gorgeous antique French door slides over the dining room entrance for intimate dinners with no view of dirty dishes!
